Creating A VISION
Tuesday, May 5th 7-9PM Paul Pratt Library, Sohier Rd., Cohasset. Parents are guided through examples in how to transform their hopes and dreams into a written vision for their child’s future. Participants will break down their visions into skill categories and engage in discussion about how those skills can be integrated into their child’s IEP development. Presented by Brian McLaughlin, Attorney at Law Federation for Children with Special Needs (FCSN) The workshop will be led by Brian J. McLaughlin, Attorney At Law. Based in Boston, Brian practices in the areas of disability consulting, and unemployment benefits. He has an array of knowledge regarding accommodations, individualized education planning, and self-advocacy. He is a certified mediator helping people facilitate through difficult issues, particularly in the areas of family mediation. Furthermore, he is well versed with the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), combining his personal experience with his legal expertise. A member of the Board of Easter Seals, Brian serves on the Assistive Technology Loan Committee, helping to secure funding for equipment that makes people with disabilities' lives better. He is also a co-chair of the Legal Policy Committee for the Special Needs Advocacy Network (SPAN). Cohasset SEPAC speakers are free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
