From Understanding Our Differences The Leader in Disability Awareness Education An Author Conversation and Book Signing Tuesday Evening, October 20, 2015 This fall, UOD's popular book event will feature Fish in a Tree, and author Lynda Mullaly Hunt. This highly praised, middle grade children's book has a learning disability theme. Every time Ally lands in a new school, she is able to hide her inability to read by creating clever yet disruptive distractions. But with the help of a new teacher, she discovers that there's a lot more to her -- and to everyone -- than a label, and that great minds don't always think alike. Recommended for grades 4-6. She will discuss, read from and sign copies of Fish In A Tree. Hunt is the author of the children's book One for the Murphys, the recipient of many honors. She is a former teacher who lives in Connecticut with her family and pets.
