Toward that end, Attorney Hines will focus on the variety of legal options that are available when your child turns 18 and the pros and cons as you make that decision. Additionally, she will speak about the most common adult public benefits and other transition issues. This presentation will last approximately 1 hour with time built in for questions, including those that may be related to the “Turning 22” transition. About the Presenter: Attorney Annette M. Hines knows first-hand the challenges of parenting and the necessities of a child with special needs. Her law practice includes estate planning, trust administration and elder law with special needs planning and healthcare law being an especially personal focus. In addition to her membership in the Massachusetts Bar Association, she is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), the National Academy of Special Needs Planners (ASNP) and the Massachusetts Association of Women Lawyers (MAWL), serving most recently as President. She has been recognized as a Distinguished Citizen by ARC Massachusetts and cited for public service by both the Massachusetts State Senate and House of Representatives.
